Tom attended primary schools in Cleveland and graduated from Glenville High School in 1948. He became a United States Marine, serving in the Korean War between 1948-1952 as a Radio Operator. He survived the harshness of frozen temperatures throughout the 17-day battle at the Chosin Reservoir in late 1950.
Tom was a career Postal Carrier for the USPS in Cleveland. He retired fulfilling the motto “rain, snow, sleet, or hail will not stop the U.S. Mail delivery”. He loved music and enjoyed dancing whenever possible. He also played the trumpet and had an extensive collection of jazz albums.
Tom married his beloved wife Judith Rogers later in life in 2005. They were avid Ohio State Buckeyes fans and traveled extensively to watch their games. Health and fitness were of utmost importance to Tom, probably one of the first to have a treadmill in his home! He ate healthy food, although considered to be a “picky” eater by most, and took vitamins and other supplements on a daily basis!
Even in his nineties, Tom could be seen walking the halls of his retirement residence, often holding his cane like a stick at his side, rather than use it for assistance. He was a devout follower of the Roman Catholic faith, and longtime parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Brooklyn Ohio. Tom loved family and always remembered everyone’s birthday; his memory was remarkable!
Tom was preceded in death by parents Victor Peter Jadrich and Susana Frenchik Jadrich; brothers Henry Joseph Jadrich, and Victor James Jadrich; and wife Judith Rogers. He is survived by nieces and nephews; Myra Susan Slocum, Martha Anne Ehlmann, Victoria Lynn Hurite, Mary Jennifer Jadrich, Bradley Stephen Jadrich, Jonathan Burke Jadrich; many great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces, several stepchildren and step grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Brooklyn Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Brooklyn, Ohio, and Miracle City Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
