Stanley “Stan” Ross Foster of Mantua, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the age of 65. He was born on August 24, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Ohio as a young man where he grew up in the Mantua and Hiram Township areas.
He graduated from Crestwood High School in 1977.
Stan worked on the family farm growing up and as an HVAC technician with his father at Foster’s Heating and Air for many years, before taking ownership of Mogadore Dairy Queen in 1994. With Stan’s decision to close the Dairy Queen in 2016, he was hired on at Rootstown Local Schools performing building and grounds maintenance, and later transferred to Kent City Schools to do the same.
Stan was actively involved in Kairos Prison Ministry, where he shared the word of God with those who are incarcerated; which helped lead many to find the love of Jesus and how to live a Christ-led life. Stan was an Elder and Trustee during various times at Hilltop Christian Church of Mantua, Ohio. Stan was an avid outdoorsman, particular to hunting and fishing, while also promoting good stewardship of our shared natural resources, as well as ethical hunting and fishing practices.
During the course of Stan’s life, he was a proud and regular blood donor. In his 65 years, Stan donated over 10 gallons of blood. Each donation can save up to 3 lives. Stan shared his gift of life with at least 80 people through this endeavor.
He is preceded in death by his nephew Mark Jared “Jurd”Foster in 2024, his mother, Doreen List in 2019, and father, Arthur Doyle Foster in 2003. Stan is also preceded in death by many of his cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Stanley is survived by his adored wife, Pamela Foster. His beloved children Aurimar Fuentes (JR Miller), Edward Collins (Sarah), and Andrea Bokesch (Ian). His brother, Mark Foster and his treasured grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, Ohio for the care and compassion they showed Stan during the course of his treatments. Just hours prior to his passing, Stan received the wonderful news that his tumors were gone.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Ceremony and a potluck luncheon to follow at Hilltop Christian Church located at 4572 W Prospect St, Mantua, OH 44255 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. EST.
Stan is being ecologically cremated, in accordance with his wishes.
