I miss my best friend of 46 years.

I’m so saddened to hear about the loss of Sharon. She was literally the smartest person in the medical profession I knew. She loved her mother Mary so dearly and always had a great adventure to share. She was robbed twice at gunpoint in Cleveland getting to work. I asked how she felt about that and she replied “It made me mad that I was late to my shift”. What a wonderful treasure she was.  RIP 🙏🏼😔

I am heartbroken by the loss of Sharon. She was not only an incredible nurse and mentor, but someone who truly changed the direction of my life.

When I was a new nurse, Sharon saw something in me that I didn’t fully see in myself. She encouraged me to go to nursing school, to push myself, and to believe that I could be more. She was always motivating me, always reminding me to keep going and to never stop learning.

I will never forget when she bought me a nursing magazine subscription when I first started school. It may seem like a small gesture, but to me it meant everything. It showed how much she believed in me (when many had given up on me) and invested in my future.

Sharon filled a space in my life with her guidance, support, and encouragement, and for that I will always be grateful. I truly would not be the nurse I am today without her. My career, my growth, and my confidence all trace back to her influence.

I will miss her more than words can express. Thank you, Sharon, for believing in me, for guiding me, and for helping me become who I am today.  I hope that I made you proud.

So sorry for the loss of such a special person! Sharon was a wonderful  nurse and friend! A coworker at CSU School of Nursing she will be missed!  Always offering a helping hand and a humorous story she taught and encouraged her students to grow in knowledge, skills and abilities. With much sadness , Janet Bessas
