Shannon Michelle Campo, also known as “Shananigans” was born March 22nd, 1985 to Dennis Robert and Angelina Marie (Nee’ Petrillo) Huffman at Lakeside Hospital in Willoughby, OH. She was the only child, therefore, the center of their universe.
Shannon moved from Euclid, OH to North Ridgeville in 1993, growing up and graduating with honors from North Ridgeville High School in 2003. After graduating high school, Shannon began taking courses at Lorain County Community College when she was a sophomore in high school only requiring 2 credit hours to receive her associates degree.
Shannon was blessed to become a mother in 2005 to, Caitlin Campo, who was her pride & joy. She continued taking college courses until she graduated in 2010. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom through 2012, during which she was Caitlin’s cheer coach, scorekeeper for her softball team, along with running her own small business of candle making. Shannon has always had a gift of helping others, which led her into her career of choice, sales.
As a single Mom, she purchased her first home in 2017, in North Royalton, OH where she naturally made it into a home for Caitlin. Shannon enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family.
In 2022, Shannon met the love of her life, Brian Yocum and they became engaged in March of 2025. Shortly after their engagement, they found out that Brian had a son, Rowan Carlson, and they looked forward to adopting & raising him together. Unfortunately, the devastating news that Shannon was critically ill, came in October 2025.
Brian & Shannon were married September 19th, 2026, fulling Shannon’s dream of having the perfect wedding. Brian remained loyally by her side, as she battled, stage four cancer of a unknown origin. Shannon had a village of people who loved her and were devastated by her diagnosis. Shannon did not want her illness to define who she was, she fought till the end with her loving family being with her every step of the way.
Shannon is proceeded death by: her paternal grandparents; Robert & Lois Huffman and her maternal grandparents; Angelo & Sandra Petrillo.
Shannon leaves behind to cherish her memory: her beloved husband; Brian Yocum, her loving children; Caitlin Campo & Rowan Carlson. Her loving parents; Dennis & Angelina Huffman, her mother-in-law, Becky Yocum and her furbabies; Cocoa & Neptune, Carl & Ross and a host of extended family.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to UH Siedman Cancer Center and Reserve Care hospice for the care that was shown to Shannon in her final days.
