She was born on December 4, 1925 in Salem, Ohio. She grew up living on her dad and mom’s farm near Winona and graduated from Augusta High School in 1943. She married Michael Klemann Jr. and they had 4 children. Michael passed away in 1967.
Mary worked many years at Salem Label and then retired from Warren Molded Plastics in 1991.
She enjoyed her retirement cruising to many magnificent destinations, was an avid golfer and very successful at growing pineapples in her backyard. She also made quilts for family and friends as well as charitable organizations.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orva and Effie (Stallman) Walton, husbands Michael J Klemann Jr., Francis Lucas and Harry Beck.
She is survived by Rosemary (Kenneth) Metzgar of Salem; Jeanne (Francis) Hawkins of North Carolina; Guy (Linda) Klemann of Hanoverton, Marianne (Doug) Hendershott of Colorado, 10 grandchildren (2 deceased), 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary lived in the Salem area until 1997 and then moved to Florida and resided at Lakeside Hills Estates where she made lots of friends and was active in many activities. She returned to Sebring in the fall of 2019 and lived at Copeland Oaks and then Crandall Medical Center.
The family would like to thank Copeland Oaks, Crandall Medical Center and Aultman Hospice for the care and compassion they showed her in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at New Garden United Methodist Church, New Garden, Ohio on Friday, October 27 at 11 am.
