Born to Ed and Mayme Hart, and lovingly raised in meager depression years with two sisters (Olive and Ruth), Kathleen (Kay) learned the richness and importance of family, religion, and kind-heartedness.
Kay married Thomas J. McFadden in 1945 and together they raised six children. Kay held down the household duties, while Tom worked for a drug company, Wyeth Laboratory.
The McFadden Family lived in Rocky River, with all six children attending St. Christopher School, and active parishioners of St. Christopher Church. Kay’s love and commitment to her children was unrivaled and proven by her daily actions. She was supportive in all they did, both curricular and extracurricular. Kay and Tom would attend all their children’s CYO sponsored activities – baseball, basketball, football – beginning in their elementary years, high school, college, and beyond.
Kay was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy on Rocky River Drive. From there, she was trained to work as dental assistant. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren provided a significant amount of joy in her life, and she spent a great deal of time with them whenever possible.
Kay is survived by her six children, Patricia (Alfred Stephen Roberts lll) McFadden of Arizona, Kathleen (Robert Beck) McFadden of Arizona/Montana, Thomas (Sharon Caputo) McFadden of Vermilion, Margaret McFadden of Fairview Park, Terrence (Faranak Arab) McFadden of Cleveland, and Robert (Kathleen Patton) McFadden of Avon Lake. Grandmother of Scott and Alfred Stephen Roberts IV, Katie (Dan Ryan) and Chris Fedor, and Bobby and Kyleen McFadden. Kay also has eight great-grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Thomas J. McFadden and her two sisters Olive and Ruth. She passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 of natural causes.
It was a beautiful and sunny afternoon the day “T.J.” called “Casey” home.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church in Avon Lake on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
