Ed was born and raised in Benwood,WV where he graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School in 1954. He then attended Findlay College in Findlay, Oh where he graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in Business. While attending Edward met his wife Alice Jeanette Kennedy (Wright) and they were married on February 10, 1962. After graduating college Ed was employed by the Owens-Illinois Company where he started as an auditor and gained promotions for other levels until he was promoted to Vice President of Operating Services Manager before retiring in January of 1997.
Retirement led Ed and his wife, Alice to Leesburg, Florida where they enjoyed years of playing golf together. They also went on many group outings, trips and gatherings along with friends within their community. Ed was known to have enjoyed his travels most of all and had wished to travel even more. Outside of activities within their community Ed enjoyed researching and following the stock market as well as financial trends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Jeanette Kennedy(Wright) originally from Van Buren, Oh. Both his parents James Frederic Kennedy and Anna Kennedy(Levicki), his brothers James Frederic Kennedy Jr., James Frederic Kennedy III and sister Margaret A. Masters(Kennedy).
Ed was a devoted son, husband,father, grandfather and friend to many. And was known for his caring and humorous personality and nature. He has touched the lives of many throughout his lifetime from his birthplace in Benwood,WVa to raising his family of three daughters in Oregon, Oh and retirement in Florida.
He is survived by his three daughters and their families, Josephine Anna Kennedy, Michele Lynn Strohscher(Kennedy), her husband Thomas Michael Strohscher, Kathleen Sue Burk(Kennedy), her husband Robert Cecil Burk and his four grandchildren, Jacob Thomas Strohscher, Brooke Michele Strohscher, Sarah Elizabeth Burk and Kimberly Marie Burk. As well as his sisters Dorothy Jones(Kennedy) and Patty Jo Goeddel(Kennedy) along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
The family is following Ed’s wishes and will not be holding funeral services instead a memorial will be planned. A Celebration of Life is being planned for both Edward and Alice Kennedy at this time by the family. The family and loved ones would like to offer our thanks to all that helped care for Ed during his final months and days, and ask that in lieu of flowers you might consider donating in honor of his name to research of Dementia and other memory loss disorders. We believe he would have wanted us to all help in the research and treatment aids that may help others that suffer from these debilitating disorders.
