Donna Rae Tretock

Donna was born on August 1, 1943, in Parma Ohio. After graduating from Nazareth High School she went to beauty school to study and teach Cosmetology. She spent many years in the field before retiring from Kaiser Permanente after 23 years. She was an active member of Al-Anon for many years and a passionate Alateen sponsor.

In 1963 she married her soul mate John Tretock, and they had 3 children, Kelly, John, and Jill. They were married for 60 years and shared a lifetime of incredible memories including traveling abroad, spending time with friends, strengthening their faith, and quiet time at home with their beloved dog, Maggie.

Donna was one of a kind. Everyone who met her felt her warmth and acceptance. She touched many lives with her kind, gentle heart, and unconditional love. She accepted everyone and always saw the best in them. Donna also had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She adored her children, 5 grandsons, and 5 great-grandsons with her whole heart.

Donna loved fashion, interior decorating, and gardening. She portrayed beauty and elegance in every aspect of her life. We will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marie Grych and John Mailinky, Wayne Bartel, and sister Lynne Bartel-Taylor.

She is survived by her husband, John Tretock, and children, Kelly Cherni (Ron), John Tretock, Jill Girard (Eric), grandsons Jamie Tretock, Hunter Cherni (Bryanna), Robbie Girard, Logan Cherni (Tereza), Ryan Girard (Cassie) and great-grandsons, Jayce Tretock, Beau Cherni, Jagger Girard, Gunner Cherni and Maverick Cherni and her siblings Jack Malinky (Jean), Dennis Malinky(Lynn) and Susan Rekowski(Olaf) and many other loved friends and family members.

The family will receive guests for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, October 24th between the hours of 3:00 pm-7:00 pm at Mapleside Farms Lodge (294 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212). She will be laid to rest on Wednesday with a private service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
