Donald Eugene Feaster, affectionately known as “Don”, was born on June 26, 1947 along with his twin sister, Donna Jean. Growing up in the village of Urbancrest, Ohio, Don enjoyed playing sports like basketball, track and football. He was given a Citizen Award by his classmates, which demonstrated his commitment to community and caring nature, and was also a member of the South-Western Honor Society.
After high school, Don attended The Ohio State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree. After meeting Pamela Jean Johnson at OSU, Don and Pam were married in 1971. Shortly after, Don joined the Air Force and was stationed near Utica, New York. He served as a Missile Systems Analyst Specialist and received several military awards. His only child, Tamara Lynn Feaster, was born in 1974 and in 1976, Don and Pamela returned to Ohio. Don became a certified Respiratory Therapist and worked at Suburban Hospital in Cleveland before returning to Urbancrest to be with his family of origin.
Many will remember Don's kindness and thoughtfulness. His belly laugh was infectious and he enjoyed telling jokes. He loved exploring nature, caring for animals, listening to music and understanding history. A life-long learner, Don's intellectual prowess extended throughout every decade of his life. As a lover of books, he mastered many topics and applied his knowledge to better himself and the lives of others. He was even a substitute teacher in Grove City schools. Don was active throughout his life and ran 13.1 miles in the Cleveland Marathon - twice. He remained physically active and could be seen riding his bike well into his seventies.
Don is preceded in death by his twin sister, Donna Jean Feaster Crews, his older sister Joyce Gwendolyn Feaster, his brothers, Grady Cromwell Feaster, Jr. and Melvin James Feaster, and his parents, Grady Cromwell Feaster & Thelma Pearl Feaster (Cordell).
As we bid Don farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Donald Eugene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars he loved.
