He lived a life defined by friendship, loyalty, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the people around him.
Dennis grew up in an era when neighborhood kids spent their days outside, playing together until the streetlights came on. Those early years shaped his lifelong love of sports, competition, and camaraderie. As a young man, he was a fierce competitor in football, baseball, and basketball, later continuing his athletic pursuits in tennis and golf throughout his college years. His love for being active and outdoors stayed with him throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, and especially driving anything that let him feel the wind in his hair.
For most of his professional career, Dennis worked as a representative in the steel industry. Through his work and his many interests, he built lasting friendships and connections with people who respected his knowledge, humor, and genuine nature.
Dennis was known for being someone you could always count on. Family and friends knew he would show up whenever help was needed. He was the go-to person for questions about cars, boats, or sports, and if you ever asked him for directions, you would quickly learn that Dennis navigated the world using north and south—not left or right.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian (Neuter) George and Lawrence M. George; his brother, Lawrence F. George; and his beloved niece, Marcella “Marcie” George Satow.
Dennis leaves behind his loving wife, Paula George; his daughter Cassandra (Daniel) Azani and their children Danielle, Shana, Darien, and Alyssa; his son Milo J. Tilocco (Julee Kasprisin); and his daughter Nicolette “Nikki” Tilocco.
He is also survived by his sister Laura (George) Cox and her husband Robert Cox; their son Michael (Mimi) and their children Teddy and Sophie; his niece Kristin (George) Geiger and her husband Richard Geiger and their children Melanie, Louis, and Frances (“Frankie”); along with his sisters-in-law Brigette (Burchert) George and Betty Leffler, mother of Marcie and Kristin.
Dennis will be deeply missed by the many family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives he touched. His competitive spirit, generosity, and love for adventure will remain in the memories of all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to share photos, messages, and songs that Dennis loved so they can be included in a collection of memories to be shared at a future memorial gathering. Details for the gathering will be announced at a later date. Those wishing to attend may contact Paula George for more information.
Dennis’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the friendships he built, and the love of family that surrounded him throughout his life.
