Daniel Carl Kilpatrick, 90, of Parma, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025. A proud Navy Reserve veteran, talented craftsman, and lover of his Irish heritage, Dan was the pinnacle family man.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister in law, Thomas and Elizabeth Kilpatrick, and stepdaughter, Tammy Coletta.
Dan’s first wife, Carol Kilpatrick (nee Graybill), passed after her courageous battle with cancer at the young age of 43. Thus leaving him to raise their five children on his own. With unwavering humility and strength, he embraced this responsibility, and his children couldn’t be more proud to call him Dad.
Dan found love again when he met Barbara at the annual West Park Vets picnic. It was truly love at first sight. They married in 1987.
Dan worked at Smith & Harris for 30+ years as a machinist and retired in 1998.
Dan leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Barbara; their loyal dog, Maggie (LBD); his sister, Joanne Mortensen(Jim) and a large, loving family. Children: Diane Damian (Bob), James, Gerald (Sharon), Thomas (Lynn), and Debra Morris (John); stepdaughters: Tracy Heron (Robert) and the late Tammy Colletta (James); grandchildren: Jacki, Carolyn, Kenny, Stacy Rohde, Sean (Stefanie), Nicki McGowan (Ryan), Sara, Daniel, Jacey, Jason, Mario Colletta (Kristen), Kevin Colletta (Haley), Matthew (Lauren), and Andrew; and great-grandchildren who lovingly called him “Old Grampy”: Lexi, Lily, Sawyer, Sloan, Bryan, Justin, Emmett, Leo, and Cecelia.
Dan’s warmth and humor will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Funeral mass will be held February 21st, 10:00 am at St Brendan’s Church in North Olmsted. After mass Dan will be buried next to his first wife, Carol Kilpatrick, at Holy Cross Cemetery.
