

Craig J. Hawes, 68, of Carey, OH passed away peacefully at the Lewis Stokes Medical Center, in Hero’s Harbor on May 2nd, 2024. He was born in Columbus, OH on September 9th, 1955 to Fred Hawes (deceased) and Virginia (nee’ Seel) Kearns. He was the oldest of 5 children. After graduating from high school in 1973, he then entered trade school in the electrical field. Craig joined the Navy from 1975-1979, where he served as an electrician’s mate. From 1979-1981 he proudly finished out his military career in the Air Force.
When Craig was discharged from the military, he continued working as a journeyman wireman for IBEW LU683 out of Columbus, OH. He worked throughout Ohio, New York, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona and Arkansas. He and Terry enjoyed travelling together the last 10 years of his career before retiring.
Craig enjoyed playing video games, specifically ROLF, building computers, he was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, and a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed cooking all kinds of different dishes and trying out recipes from different cooking shows, including: Guy’s grocery games and Chopped.
Craig is preceded in death by; his Father; Fred Hawes and his sister; Lori Hawes.
Craig is survived by: his wife of 11 years; Teresa (Terry) M. Hawes, his Mother; Virginia Kearns; his children; Gordon (Simone)Fletcher, Galen (Katy) Hawes and Sara (Bruce) White; his step-children; Kathleen (Corey Beard) Pahl, Rhiannon(Steve) Coppler and Amanda (Terry) Stoops His Grandchildren; Kearney Fletcher, Kameela Ingram, Karee Bojorquez, Helena and Hera Hawes, step grandchildren; Jayden Pahl, Maddox Perry, Layla Coppler, Kadence, Kylie, Karson and Keydan Stoops, Huxley and Keiran Beard. His great- grandson; Arlo Ingram. His siblings; Tim (Deborah) Hawes, Gina Beattie and Ginger Barret.
