An avid animal lover from an early age, Barbara competed in horse shows throughout her childhood and received a “Best Rider” award at just five years old. She was mischievous, playful, beautiful, and effervescent. Her contagious smile could brighten any room, especially when accompanied by her infectious giggle. At the same time, Barbara was serious, meticulous, focused, honest, and a person of tremendous integrity.
For most of her career, Barbara worked as an Account Manager serving clients in the entertainment industry. She treated every client with respect and managed their business as if it were her own. Her professionalism and dedication earned her immense admiration by her clients and co-workers.
Barbara had a passion for convertibles and loved feeling the wind in her tousled blonde hair while listening to The Rolling Stones. She adored Weimaraner’s and horses. One of her favorite weekend escapes was visiting the stable to spend time with her white Arabian horse, Elke, often with her beloved dog, Kundry, by her side.
Later in life, Barbara reconnected with her future husband, Bruce Thu. Bruce was a steadfast, patient, loyal, and loving partner, and Barbara was blessed to share her life with him. Together, they embarked on countless adventures and traveled the world. They were married on a beach in Hawaii, toasted champagne beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and rode horses through the mountains for days before spending evenings talking under the stars at a Montana dude ranch. In Alaska, they bundled up in parkas and snuggled together in a dog sled as a team of huskies carried them through the snow. In Bora Bora, they snorkeled in crystal-blue waters, marveling at the colorful fish and fascinating sea life. Their curiosity and love of adventure created a lifetime of treasured memories.
In 2014, Barbara and Bruce moved from California to Ohio, where Barbara had lived as a child. There, they reunited with cherished lifelong friends, created new memories with their extended family, and formed lasting friendships with wonderful neighbors. They also welcomed a spirited Weimaraner puppy named Silver into their lives. Silver quickly became the love of their lives.
Ever courageous, determined, and devoted, Bruce faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease with remarkable resilience. Sadly, he passed away on March 21, 2025.
Barbara’s final days were spent surrounded by friends who never left her side. She passed away on June 14, 2026. Barbara loved deeply, and she was deeply loved in return. Both Barbara and Bruce will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives they touched.
