

Born in Paterson, NJ in 1929, he served in the US Navy/SeaBees from 1946 to 1949 in Saipan and Guam.
He wed Frances Marie Douma (Prospect Park NJ)in 1949, residing in Paterson, Wayne, and West Milford NJ until her passing in 1993. Roger and Fran had four children.
Roger was a Lineman and Line Inspector at PSE&G until his retirement in 1992. He also worked on his family's farm at a young age, as a Coal Deliveryman, and as a Landscaper. He was a volunteer in the Boy Scouts throughout his life, receiving the highest achievement for volunteers, the Silver Beaver Award.
He moved to Wildwood FL in 1999 with his new partner Helen Manning, where he enjoyed playing golf nearly every day until he was 92. He was very proud to have had 7 Hole-in-ones.
Due to health challenges, he moved back to NJ in 2024, to be closer to his children.
He is survived by his 4 children and their families, David Stager and his wife Marie (San Jose CA), Cathy Barry (Whiting NJ), Lauri Hachey (Fairfield CT), and Roger W Stager Jr and his wife Frances (Stockton NJ), 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and his partner Helen Manning and her family.
Roger and Fran will Rest in Peace at the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa NJ, alongside 3 previous generations of family, including Roger's brother Warren, who tragically passed at only 8 months.
