Roger Alfred Klahre

Roger Alfred Klahre, 82, of Blairstown, NJ passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on May 14, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Alfred and Vernon Klahre (Jerry). He was a 1961 graduate of Newton High School, Newton, NJ. He proudly served in the US Air Force. He was employed at LE Carpenters in Wharton, NJ from 1968-1986. He then worked at Picatinny Arsenal as a police officer for 18 years until his retirement in 2006.

Roger enjoyed genealogy research. Over the years he connected many distant relatives to each other and formed lasting friendships. Other hobbies included boats, cars, carpentry projects, and watching classic movies.

He is survived by his wife Brigitte Ursula “Uschi” Klahre (Greifenhagen); sister Sylvia Raia; his two daughters Victoria Winay and her husband Scott; Jennifer Moore and her husband Christian; and five grandchildren Bridget, Nicholas, Thomas, Caroline, and Ivy.
