Morristown and Cedar Grove: Robert (Bob) Ellsworth Benjamin, 95, passed away on December 28, 2024. Bob was born and grew up in Clifton, NJ. He moved to Cedar Grove after he married Cornelia “Connie” Den Boer and where they raised their three sons.
He spent the later years of his life in Morristown, New Jersey where he met and married Patricia Fox.
Sgt. Robert Benjamin was a tank commander in the US Army and was stationed in Europe during the Korean War.
Bob was the former owner of Clifton Metal Products, was an inventor and has a few patents to his name.
He was loved by many and will be remembered for his generosity, charming personality, wry sense of humor, knack for storytelling and for his love of tennis and chess.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Connie and son Kenneth.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, his two sons Stuart and David, his four grandchildren Katie Jo (Kyle), Tessanne (James), RJ and Laura (Eli) and his Great-grandson Cassidy. Bob was so happy to have met this little guy.
He is also survived by his step children: Gayla (Tom), Nicole (Jim), Vincent (Ingrid) and Danielle (Ben). He enjoyed spending time and special occasions with his step grandchildren. They called him Grandpa Bob. He passed on his love of tennis and chess to Padraig, Brennan and Jameson.
Farewell and rest in peace Bob.
We will miss him dearly.
There will be a private burial at a future date.
