Lee Cattabiani, affectionately known as “Aunt Sunshine,” passed away leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was born on June 17, 1942, in New York, to Joseph and Rae (Coppola) Cattabiani. A longtime resident of West Orange, Lee later settled in East Hanover, New Jersey. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself as an office manager in a medical practice, retiring only after years of committed and compassionate service.
Lee truly lived up to her nickname: her vibrant spirit illuminated every room she entered. To her nieces and nephews, she was more than an aunt—she was a loyal confidante and cherished friend. Family was at the heart of everything she did; she spent countless hours with loved ones, creating lifelong memories and offering a steadfast source of love and support.
Lee is survived by her three sisters and two brothers-in-law—Margie Silvani (late Michael Silvani), Joann and Phil Parnell, and Carol and Raymond Flynn—as well as eight nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Joseph and Rae Cattabiani.
A Funeral Mass will be held on January 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, located at 359 Central Avenue in North Caldwell, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of New Jersey. May Lee’s radiant spirit continue to guide and inspire everyone who knew and loved her.
