Kathleen (Kathy) McMahon, 84, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024. Kathy was born in the Bronx, N.Y. and married the love of her life James (Jim) in 1963. Kathy and Jim moved to Howell, N.J. to raise their children before retiring to Jackson, N.J. in 2003. Kathy and Jim were married for 58 years until his passing on January 13, 2022. Kathy is survived by her sons Kevin, Bob (wife Tita), and Chris (wife Elsa), five beloved granddaughters Sydney, Sara, Amaranta, Madison, and Brooke, daughters-in-law Debbie McMahon and Dawn Forbes, her fur babies Bo and Chloe, and many extended family members. She was pre-deceased by her husband James, son James Jr., and siblings James Powers, Ann Moore, Donald Powers, and Patricia Mahoney.
One word to best describe Kathy is "kind" and one of her favorite expressions was "I love you to the moon and back!" Kathy most enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. Kathy had a smile that could light up a room and people were instantly drawn to her charm and warmth. She loved sharing stories about great times spent with her cherished family and friends. She was most proud of her grandchildren and took enormous pride in all their accomplishments. Kathy was extremely artistic and talented. She enjoyed knitting, painting, pottery, and drawing and took joy in sharing her finished products with loved ones. Kathy was a woman of deep Catholic faith. She loved her chats with her friends, but especially with best friends Maureen and Betty. The family would like to extend enormous gratitude to Kathy's caretakers in her time of need.

A funeral mass will be on Wednesday January 31, 2024 at 10AM at Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson, NJ. The service can also be viewed through the church website, http://www.saintaloysiusonline.org. Interment will follow at 11:30AM at Saint Mary's of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to may be made to the Christopher J Morrissey Foundation (christopherjmorrisseyfoundation.org) and/or Rescue Ridge (rescueridge.com/in-memory-of/)
