Jack was born on September 14,1937 and raised in Paterson N.J. He passed away peacefully on September 25 2026 at his home in Brick nj surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Lena Wootton,and his brother Walter Wootton.
He is survived by his wife Joan of 36 years, and his children Scott and Shannon Wootton, Douglas and Debra wootton, Bill and Mary Vanecek, Terry and Nicole Vanecek and Victoria and Matt Hodges.
He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jaclyn, A.J, Eric, Marc, Landon, Carson,Connor and Olivia.
Jack attended Paterson State, Seton Hall and Fordham University.
He went on to teach for seven years, before becoming an elementary school principal for 31 years in the Florham Park, NJ school system.
After retiring he served as a principal for 5 years at the Shepard High School in Morristown,NJ.
Jack was an avid golfer, fisherman, boater, photographer, voracious reader and a music guru- sharing his love of and knowledge of all music styles!
Jack was known to have 3 novels going at the same time!
He loved his "Bat-mobile" boat, fishing and boating on Lake Hopatcong and Roamingwood Lake in the Poconos.
His boating adventures continued in his "ED DUZ IT" craft when he moved to the Jersey shore.
He loved his Navy-Army games and rafting the Delaware with his gang!
He truly enjoyed extensive travel in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean, with his wife, family and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all.
Sadness may fade but love and wonderful memories will last forever.
Cremation was in accordance with Jack's wishes and a private memorial with scattering of his ashes will be held by his family.
