Gloria Jean Pechfelder

(December 2, 1949 to June 17, 2024)

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gloria Jean Pechfelder (Hoffman) a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who passed away suddenly on Monday, June 17, 2024. She was 74 years old.

Survived by her husband, Richard Pechfelder of 52 years, son Richard Pechfelder II and his wife, Lisa of Cedar Knolls, NJ, daughter Carolyn Willis of Rockaway, NJ, daughter Amy Sipple and husband Matthew of Rockaway, NJ, her 8 beloved grandchildren, Caitlin, Madison, Kyle, Cody, Ryan, Jacob, Jack, and Anna. Gloria also survived by her sister, Jill Swersie and her husband, Jack of Scotrun, PA, her brother John Hoffman III and his wife Dolores of Budd Lake, NJ, her niece Mariah Morris and husband Craig of Aspen, CO and great niece Jordan.

Gloria was born in Chester, NJ to Jack (d.1992) and Doris (d.2005) Hoffman. Gloria attended West Morris High School before attending Clara Maass Nursing School in Belleville, NJ. Gloria worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital before staying home to raise her three children. Gloria returned to work after her children were old enough and she provided private duty nursing for Bayada Nursing.

Gloria had an unforgettable laugh and never left the house without wearing one of her hats from her extensive collection. Gloria loved to travel and was actively involved in Rockaway’s two Senior Clubs and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 344 of Rockaway.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., with a short service at 2:00, at the American Legion Post 344 - 100 Chestnut Terrace Rockaway, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the American Legion Post 344 in Gloria's memory.
