Elizabeth is a native of Matawan, New Jersey. Mom was the adored daughter of John and Elfrieda Muller and sister to older brothers, John Muller (and his dear wife, Virginia), and Robert Muller (and his dear wife, Catherine), all of whom have predeceased her.
She lived in Matawan through her childhood and high school years. Elizabeth was a classically trained pianist, who was accepted to the prestigious Oberlin College and Conservatory. She chose instead to stay somewhat local and attended Trenton State for a short time.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and caregiver to many. Elizabeth also was a deaconess at the Cypress Lakes Presbyterian Church she attended in Fort Myers, Florida. It was there she continued caregiving by providing transport to those unable to get to their doctor’s appointments or grocery stores.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved Robert Schaarschuch in 2003. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Dominick Pileggi.
Elizabeth was the devoted mother and stepmother of:
Nancy Quackenbush (née Schaarschuch) and her husband, Dave; Janet Cantor (née Schaarschuch) and her fiancé, Phil; Maria Tooher (née Pileggi) and her husband, Chris; Katherine Capparelli (née Pileggi); Dominick Pileggi and his wife, Celinda; Steven Schaarschuch and his wife, Mary; Dawn Lamond (née Schaarschuch) and her husband, Brian.
Elizabeth is survived by many grandchildren and one great grandchild:
Nancy’s Children: Anthony Pasqualino, Michael Woods, Gayle Woods, Amara Woods and Caydence Woods; Janet’s son (and Bob and Betty’s first grandchild), Joseph Gualdarrama; Maria’s children and grandson: Kristina Duran (née Pileggi) and her husband, Denis, and their son, Domenic Duran (Elizabeth’s first great grandchild); Jennifer Tooher and Kayleigh Tooher; Katherine’s children: Olivia Capparelli and John Capparelli; Dominick’s children: Courtney Pileggi and Mikayla Pileggi and her fiancé, Esael; Steven’s children: Molly Schaarschuch and Luke Schaarschuch; and Dawn’s son, Brayden Lamond.
Elizabeth is also survived by beloved nephews and nieces Kathy, Judy, Michael and Arlene; Robert and Charles.
Elizabeth will be interred with her beloved Bob, with a small family gathering being held later this year.
