It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Constance (Connie) Verner; a cherished wife, aunt, step-mom, C-mom, cousin and friend.
Connie was born on October 8, 1954, in Camden, NJ, to George and Lois Brennan. Connie spent her early years in Woodlynne, NJ and graduated St. Joseph’s High School. Shortly after graduation, Connie began working at Bell Telephone as a dispatcher which launched her career in telecommunications. Connie spent two decades working as a leader in the field at Traveler’s Mortgage, PNC Bank and Lenox China.
Connie married her husband Joseph Verner on April 8, 1990. The two met when Connie was his dispatcher at Bell Telephone and she continued to tell him where to go throughout their life together. Connie and Joe purchased and renovated a home in Riverside, NJ and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in their beautiful backyard. In 2000, Connie and Joe moved to Pine Island, Florida. While living on Pine Island, Connie and Joe created a strong community of friends. They loved spending time on their boat and frequented their favorite local spots like The Double Nichol, Low Key Tiki, Ragged Ass Saloon, and Froggies.
In 2013, Connie, Joe and their beloved dog Lacey moved back to New Jersey to be closer to their families. A dedicated sister and aunt, Connie aka Freddie loved to spend time with her sister, niece, nephew, nephew-in-law and great nieces. Connie adored, and was adored by, the Verner family. She loved attending family parties and dance recitals for her great granddaughters.
Connie kept busy. She played mahjong, frequented wineries, traveled and loved to dance. In recent years, Connie volunteered her time at the Unforgotten Haven where she supported the food pantry.
Connie is survived by her husband Joseph Verner, stepsons Ken (Deb) Verner and Paul Verner, Nadine Revy, granddaughters Michelle (Brian) Wojno, Ashley (Chris) Vittese, Hailey Verner, Abby Verner, 2 great granddaughters Reagan and Quinn, and 4 great grandsons Finn, Colton, Maddox and Miles, niece Carrie Brennan, nephew AJ Visgil (Dana Hosler), nephew-in-law Bob Grimmie and great nieces Emmy Hosler-Visgil, Connie Grimmie and Elli Hosler-Visgil and her adorable dog Gwen. Connie will be remembered by her cousins and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her treasured sister Lois Allen in June 2024. We take great comfort in knowing they have been reunited.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, our family requests you make a donation to the charity of your choice in her memory.
