Carlota Rios Mendez

Born on November 10, 1935 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Carlota would later meet and marry Mario William Mendez, with whom she was married until his death.

An avid domino competitor, Carlota enjoyed to play and challenge all those around her, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, often beating them at the game and laughing as she declared “capicu”. When she wasn’t busy winning, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drinking a good cup of coffee, and dining out, especially at Red Lobster, where she loved their lobster and shrimp.

She loved deeply and was loved back just as much by everyone who knew her. Carlota took great pride and comfort in her lasting faith in God and left this world knowing she would be joining her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Carlota is preceded in death by her wonderful husband Mario William, son Mario (Junior), and daughter, Rachel. She is survived by her sister Ana, son Daniel (Jenny), and daughters Serita Rivera (Samuel), and Milagros Gomez (Henry) as well as ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, all of whom she impacted greatly.
