Tony Goodwin Hatley

Tony Goodwin Hatley, 80, of Forney Texas, passed away peacefully after a 6-month battle with lung cancer on September 22, 2026, in Tampa, FL. He was surrounded by his partner of 46 years, Brad Silverlight, and his Florida family, Lourdes and Charlie Jacobs.

Tony was born on November 19, 1945, in Forney, Texas to Lewis and Bessie Hatley. He grew up in Forney and spent the first 50 years of his life living and working in Texas as a hair stylist and artist. After making several moves with his partner Brad they ended up in Tampa, Florida where he worked as a leasing agent until retiring in 2009. Tony continued to be a devoted and loving partner to Brad, a committed, loyal friend to Lourdes, and a loving mentor to his godson, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Hatley Vice. He is survived by his niece, Jenna Rosazza; nephews, Bryan and Brad Vice; cousins, Cheree Cargill, Mynetta Cockrell, Sally Hatley DeLong; and many other relatives and friends.

Per his request there will be no services held. He will be truly missed by many.
