Theodore "Ted" Quigley was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Ted will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Ted was the son of Theodore and Josephine Quigley and is survived by his two younger sisters, Joyce and Helen. He graduated from Brewster Technical School having learned the trade of type setting. One of his first jobs was with Curry Marking Equipment in Tampa. Ted proudly served 5 years in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Ted worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Fortunately, he enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Ted worked diligently and had a successful career as a circulation manager for the Tampa Tribune, retiring after over 30 years of service.
Ted enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Ted enjoyed bowling and that is how he met his life partner, Patricia Gossett. Later in life, his favorite pursuits were building and flying model airplanes. He also had a knack for creating amazing yard art using scrap metal. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Ted was a member of the Bay City Flyers, Palma Ceia Lodge #290 and the Scottish Rite.
Ted loved music and enjoyed jamming on his bass guitar. He was also a softie for his poodles, Princess and Lenny.
Ted passed away on June 22, 2023 at The Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida. Ted fought a short but brave battle against cancer.
