Ronald was born in Middlebury, VT to Harry North Jr. and Esther (Chlapowski) North. He graduated from Southington High School in Southington, CT in 1967. He married his sweetheart, Lucille Christine Collette on February 9th 1968 in North Carolina and settled in Monson, MA.
He last worked for Tell Tool Inc., in Westfield, MA, for many years as a Quality Supervisor/Inspector for Cadence Aerospace. Ronald had very special relationships with all generations within his family and was described as “fun loving” and “the life of the party.” He bonded with his son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren through gaming time on the Xbox. He was known to have Karaoke parties with his late wife Lucy, family, and friends in his home. Ronald enjoyed music and loved to attend concerts with his son. He was very excited when he finally saw the Beach Boys live four years ago. He enjoyed sitting at the pool, listening to the 60’s and 70’s music, especially The Beach Boys, while conversing with friends and family. Ronald enjoyed camping at Oak Haven Campground in Wales, MA, where he had a seasonal camper for many years.
He loved playing horseshoes and quoits every weekend with his sister Esther and spouse Jan and son Ron Jr. every weekend in the summer. He also loved sitting around the campfire with family and friends. He also knew his way around the dance floor. In fact, he used to go with his wife, Lucy, every Saturday to a disco club. Ronald loved the beach, Clearwater beach being his favorite as he described it as “my white snow, it never gets hot on my feet, and I don’t have to shovel it.”
Ronald was very active in his community in Hudson, FL and had the reputation of being “the lucky one.” If he played Bingo or Pokeno he usually won and comments were “Ron’s here, I guess we won’t be winning tonight.” He also enjoyed shuffleboard, poker runs and gift card bingo. Ronald and his son enjoyed the last year every Saturday reminiscing, drinking, and listening to music at the pool. This bonding time will never be forgotten by Ron Jr. Ron recently celebrated his 75th birthday with Ron Jr in the Gulf of Mexico on an island off the coast of Clearwater Beach. as they traditionally did because they shared the same birthday, and Ron Jr. stated “it was the best birthday ever.” Ron loved to go out on the the boat in the Gulf of Mexico. Ron was loved by many and described as a “loving and caring father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.”
Ronald was pre-deceased by his wife, Lucille Collette North on June 11th 2014. He continued to love her and speak about her daily.
Ronald is survived by his loving son, Ronald Harry North Jr. and wife Victoria North of Trinity, FL. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren; Kevin North and wife Laura, Kyle North and fiancé Elizabeth, Ashley North and Kadyn North, and his great-grandchildren; Lilly, Taelor, Oliver, Zane and Emerson, and many nieces and nephews. Ronald is also survived by his beloved siblings; Harry North and spouse William Pelto of Manchester, CT., Esther Delbuono and spouse Janice Stlaurent of Charlton, MA and James North and wife Susan North of Florence, MA.
Celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
