Robert Israel Samuel

Robert Samuel, 83 years old of Gulfport Florida (formerly Dover, DE), died May 2, 2023. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene; his daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and John Manfreda; his son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Sara Samuel; his grandchildren, Bennett, Catherine and Merritt Samuel and Sandra and Steven Manfreda.

Bob was a pharmacist and owned/operated Avenue Medical for many years in Dover DE. He was active in the Delaware Pharmaceutical Society and Delaware Board of Pharmacy. He initiated the first drug abuse clinic to serve the Dover community in the late-60's for which he received the Bowl of Hygieia Award in recognition.

Bob received several political appointments serving the State of Delaware. He was also recognized by the Governor and received an Outstanding Volunteer Award for service to local Alzheimer patients and Autistic children via his beloved therapy dogs, Mac and Teddy.

Bob's hobbies included scuba diving, photography and fishing.
