A very close friend he painted a picture of my dog who absolutely just loved him! Always fun to explore the art galleries. And going out for happy hour to enjoy a nice libation.

Bellial was always the character! I took him out for his birthday and remembered a lot of fun times!

Belial, you enchanted me with your writing style before I ever knew you. You showed me how to find my own writing style and voice. You showed me to believe in myself and be fearless with the things I have to say.  I will be fearless.  I will miss you.

I remember having a crush on you when you would shop at Tower Records.  I recommended Debussy and Ravel String Quartets by Quartette Italiano and you loved it.  A decade later, you would turn me on to PJ Harvey's Stories From The City.  Looking back, our relationship couldn't have ended differently given where and who we were at the time.  I did look at your art from afar and took comfort that you were a survivor and true to yourself.  Thank you.

Thank you for sharing some wild and inspiring art school times with me. I still have the recordings we made and feel blessed to have had that connection with you. I am glad the folx who love you are remembering the brightness and the darkness, as I will never forget what you said in a critique about letting people see ALL of you—even the stains on your undies. That's still cracking me up, 30 years later! I see you, old friend. I hear you. I love you. All is well between us. Blessed be, go in peace!

I cannot believe my lovely friend Bellial is gone. His love and support meant the world to me, and I hope I was able to return the favor in any measure possible. You were a great supporter of my work. You told me my Street Angel hung above your bed and it gave you comfort every night. I was so pleased when I completed a portrait of you but you told me to wait on sending it to you... I will now keep it and hang it above my own bed to give me comfort every night.

Oh Bellial. It absolutely breaks my heart that this life ended the way it did for you. When I think of you, I don’t think of the you of the recent present, but always of the past as we were when we first met. You and I met in 1997, and if memory serves, it was at The Hole in the Wall bar that we met. We tried to do the “sort of” boyfriend thing for about 3 months, but ultimately, we both decided we were better friends than anything else. At the time, you were heavily into video art and the radical fairies. I had moved from Atlanta 2 years before and the radical fairies had quite a presence there, so I always loved and adored that tribe, though I may not have really been a part of it myself. And the video art! Wow! I was always amazed at how you not only found all these esoteric pieces of film and video, but then somehow edited them together with synced music that was perfection.  You even began selling them to the various pop up late night bars and clubs in SOMA so they could play them on walls and screen (sans your music usually though) for the patrons to trip out on. You were so joyous and childlike in almost everything you did. When I think of you, I ALWAYS smile, because you always made me smile or laugh immensely (usually until my face hurt). And you will always be a part of my memories of the San Francisco I fell in love with during my first few years living here, and that I will always cherish. Until our next lives together, rest, dear friend. You certainly deserve it. You will always be in my heart.

Belile was a great friend and I was only to happy to have known him as long as I did, I could walk into the sgn office and be in a foul mood and he would have me smiling inside of 5 minutes. I was greatly saddened and wanted to cry when I heard of his passing, Seattle lost a great guy when Robert died.

My brother. My old friend. There was a time when we were inseperable. Highschool hanging out in your attic bedroom watching Shi Ling do what he did best and laughing... laughing so much! Driving cross country with you to a new life in SF... that road trip in your Rabbit filled with shit neither of us really needed. Scream'singing "Private Idaho" as we passed through well, every fucking state we passed through. Sitting on the SFAI rooftop  listening to the parrot smock people below... watching the sky turn black as the Oakland Hills burned. An the movies, performances, the constant stream of poetry we made together! We lived lifetimes together before we were ever out of our 20´s!  You burned brightly, my love... too brightly. The rift that separated us widened over the years into a deep chasm, but I still loved you from afar. This life was not kind to you. Nothing ever came easy, and you never got the break you deserved. So "Go toward the light, CarolAnn!" Keep burning bright. We will meet again.

I loved Rob and always will. He was a good friend.

Just learned that my dear friend Bellial Darshan aka Robert Lee Motter II has  passed away. I saw it on another friend’s FB page. What a tragedy. Oh my sister, my friend, my love. We have been close ever since we first met at Wolf Creek in 2001 (BLOOD EVERYWHERE!). You were a bright light even on your darkest days. I will miss you laugh, your energy, your heart. I can’t believe you are gone but I hope you have finally found peace. Rest In Power you magical creature. Love you always!

The bright light you shared with your creative energy and kind smile will be a memory for us.  I wish that the joy you shared at times was more present in your short life.  Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
