Bob was born on June 17, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Ralph and Anna Kahmer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969 as a teletype repairman. Following his military service, Bob began a long and dedicated career with Bell of Pennsylvania and later retired from Avaya and TSA.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time with his beloved pup, Zara, and, most of all, spoiling his grandchildren. His family brought him tremendous joy, and the memories they created together will forever be cherished.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Ralph G. Kahmer, in 1988; his mother, Anna C. Kahmer, in 2003; his son, Robert A. Kahmer Jr., in 2004; his brother, Henry “Hank” Kahmer, in 2008; and his brother, Richard “Rit” Kahmer, in 2024.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Kahmer; his daughter-in-law, Sonja Kahmer; his grandson, Alexander C. Kahmer; his granddaughter, Kayley Kahmer; his daughter, Colleen Link, and son-in-law, James T. Link; his granddaughters, Skyler and Liberty Link; and his great-granddaughter, Saylor Smoot. He is also survived by his brother, Ralph Kahmer; his sister, Barbara Kahmer; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Timber Greens Country Club, located at 6333 Timber Greens Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Bob’s memory to consider making a donation in his name to K9 Partners for Patriots, Inc.
