Robert Neal Daws Jr.

Born May 4, 1938 in Norfolk, Virginia to Robert N. Daws Sr. and Leonor (Conner) Daws.

Married Gloria J (Garcia/Chitty) Daws on June 12, 1982, Granite City Illinois Army Depot.

Master Degree from the University of Tennessee.

Retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army after serving 26 years flying UH-1 Helicopters most of his career. Received awards such as the Distinguished Flying Cross; Purple Heart; Meritorious Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Master Aviator Badge; and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Hobbies included wood working, rebuilding cars, crossword puzzles and building intricate 3D wooden puzzles.

Bob was a big and tall man at 6 feet 2 inches but was commonly known as a gentle and quiet man.

Surviving relatives: Sister, Sylvia Diana Daws Preston of Hosehton, GA. Son, Robert N. Daws III, Daughter-in-law Becky Daws and Grandson Brice Nathan Daws of Little Rock, AK. Step –Daughter Christine (Ted) Borris of Burke, VA; Grandchildren Sydney and Jake Sweigart. Step-Son William E. (Elizabeth) Chitty Jr of Seattle, WA. Grandchildren Zachery and Ryan Chitty.

Deceased Brothers: James Conner Williams, Ralph Leon Williams and Joseph Ronald Daws. Deceased Granddaughter Breanne Noel Daws.

Bob will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery
