Rhonda Kay Lehrer, of Land O Lakes, FL, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband and son holding her hands on Jun 25, 2021. For nine years she battled Alzheimer’s until she succumbed to the disease.
She was as born in Lyons, KS to Robert J. and Virginia M. (Yoder) Cyphert, on Nov 9, 1956. Rhonda lived in various places with her parents in Kansas and Colorado until settling down in Greeley, CO. Rhonda graduated from Greeley Central High School where she met her future husband, Roger Lehrer. Rhonda succeeded in scholastics and on Banner Squad.
Rhonda married Roger Lehrer in Greeley in 1975 and raised two sons, David and Andrew. Rhonda loved animals and helping people. Once the boys were old enough, she worked at several animal hospitals as a receptionist. Later she received her Certificate in Laboratory Technology in 2002 and then an Associates Degree in Medical Technology in 2008.
Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Roger who was an USAF Officer. Whether fishing the rivers or lakes in Alaska; or riding bikes or hiking trails around villages in Germany, Rhonda’s focus was always on taking care of family and others. For example, she was a Den Leader for American boys living in a local German village.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Roger and youngest son Andrew of Florida; her oldest son David of New York; and her stepbrother Cody Cyphert of Greeley. Additionally, she has four grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Rhonda’s life at her Florida residence on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 2pm.
