Born in Bainbridge, Georgia, Mel is a veteran, having proudly served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer, 18th Brigade, in Vietnam. Upon his return, he met his soul mate, Edna, to whom he was married for nearly 54 years.
A welder by trade, Mel was a humble man who loved God and his family above all else. He was a gentle soul with a kindness unmatched, a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, a man who gave thanks and glory to God for every beauty and gift in this world.
Mel is survived by his loving wife, Edna; brothers Harold Dean (Roger) Kennedy-Foster of Atlanta, GA, and JC Kennedy of Wichita, KS; son, Scott (Angela) Kennedy of Spring Hill, FL; daughter Sybil Kennedy-Daddio of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren Anthony, Camryn and Kaitlyn of Spring Hill, FL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear neighbors and friends.
May his legacy of kindness, humility, service, and love live on into eternity.
