It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Louis Charles Dommer, age 89, of Tampa, FL. He passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 1, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio he was the son of Louis and Helen (Maloney) Dommer.
Louis Charles Dommer built a dedicated career as the Director of Public Works and Safety Director for the City of Euclid. Beyond his professional life, he was a past member of The Euclid Coalition Club, The Optimist Club, The Knights of Columbus and past President of American Society of Mechanical Engineers Midwest Region. He loved Hunting, fishing, camping, golf, traveling and Little League Baseball. He was known for his larger-than-Life presence, loving charm, witty sense of humor, honesty and integrity.
Above all, his greatest joy in life was being a husband and a father. He was a constant source of wisdom, strength, and guidance, always there to support his children, family and friends through every chapter of their lives.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie Dommer; his children, Louis C. Dommer III, (wife Michelle), Jeanne Fresenko, husband (Greg), Jennifer Hudak husband (Jeff); his 5 grandchildren; and his 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Louis, mother Helen and sisters Mauren Bock, Donna Zele and granddaughter Vanessa Dommer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in his memory to Moffitt Cancer
Center of Tampa Florida. They were responsible for blessing him with an additional 10 years of life filled
with love and happiness.
