Lorraine Mae Wetzel was born in Union City, New Jersey to Emil J Wetzel and Margaret Thoma. She was raised in Union City graduating from Emerson High School and later resided in Secaucus, before moving to 10th Street in Carlstadt where she resided most of her life. She was employed by AT&T for 40 years, where she served as executive decorator at their headquarters location in Basking Ridge, retiring in 1989. Her hobbies included making and teaching adult classes on ceramics, arts and crafts, and collecting Hummels. She was an active member in the Carlstadt Republican Club and Vic’s Hoofers. During her 34 year retirement she enjoyed traveling, especially taking numerous cruises.
She is predeceased by her daughter Lynn Toscano, aka Lynn Boothney, her longtime partners James Raimondo and Walter Brusckiwicz.
Surviving is her son Bill Reeves, his wife Charlotte and their daughters Rachel and Amanda, Walter’s son Marc, his wife Leslie and their children Eric and Annabella. Also, Walter’s daughter Tina and her children Justin, Eryka and Ava, James’ daughter-in-law Elaine (Fidge) and her children Danny and Joy.
She spent her final years in Chino Valley, Arizona with Walter before relocating to Safety Harbor, Florida in 2019. She lived a clean life and passed peacefully. The body will be cremated at her request. A private service will be held at a future date.
