Lawrence Arthur Jones

Lawrence Arthur Jones, 80, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully

on September 21, 2023 under the loving care of Hospice of the Florida

Suncoast.

Larry was born on September 2, 1943, to Lucille and Ernest Mark Jones.

He spent his early years in St. Louis, MO, enjoying the company of his

large family, and sharing fun times with his siblings. He often recalled a

carefree youth in the countryside, climbing fruit trees and rolling down

hills in wheelbarrows with a beloved sister.

During his adolescence, his family moved to Brooklyn, NY where Larry

completed his education and embarked on a career in computer

maintenance and repair. He worked at the Burroughs Corporation in New

York City for several years. Larry met the love of his life, Nancy, after

friends introduced him to her at a parish dance. They instantly knew they

were soulmates, and were inseparable for the next sixty-three years.

After their wedding on October 2, 1965, and the subsequent birth of their

two sons, Larry moved his family to St. Petersburg. He worked at Techware,

programming computers and eventually became a manager. He left to

start his own business, NFL Systems, making and selling computers and

teaching others how to use them.

He also had a talent and love of woodworking, and used that talent to

create distinctive wood cabinetry for kitchens and bathrooms, and

delighted Nancy with a beautiful remodel of their kitchen and bath.

Larry's entrepreneurial spirit was evident as he created a side

business remodeling kitchens and baths for clients who recognized his

talent and enlisted his help to make the kitchens and baths of their

dreams. He adored his family and they adored him. He was a kind and

gentle soul who would go out of his way to make life easier for anyone

who needed help. Larry was a true friend to all.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his two sons, Lawrence and

Frank, his daughter-in-law Kim, his two grandsons Kadin and Davin

Jones, his brother Robert, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Saturday, October 21,

2023 at 1pm at The Lakes, 4591 Lakes Blvd, Clearwater. FL 33762.
