Karen Allene Bauer

Born on April 5, 1955, Karen lived a life centered on faith, family, service, and love. She made her home in Wesley Chapel, Florida, where she touched countless lives through her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to others.

Karen dedicated much of her life to education and ministry. Karen spent 20+ years in education as an administrator at a childcare center, working with the Headstart program & later in the classroom as a 2nd grade teacher. As a spiritual mentor, she inspired and encouraged people of all ages. Her deep Episcopal faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her service to her church, community, and family. Karen played an instrumental role in helping establish two churches, led prayer groups, participated in Cursillo ministry, and devoted countless hours to volunteering in schools and food banks. Through her faith-filled leadership and compassionate spirit, she became a source of comfort, encouragement, and guidance to many.

Karen's enthusiasm for life extended far beyond her work and ministry. She was a talented painter, an avid reader, and a lifelong learner with a passion for history, travel, and exploring. She enjoyed camping, tennis, rafting, and adventures of all kinds. Known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and wonderful sense of humor, Karen had a unique gift for making others smile and feel at ease. Karen was also the unofficial social coordinator wherever she went. She delighted in organizing Bunco nights, neighborhood dinners, and high school reunions, bringing people together and creating lasting friendships and memories. Her welcoming spirit and gift for connecting others made everyone feel included, valued, and at home.

She was known for her collections of pigs, dragonflies, and wind chimes, each reflecting her appreciation for beauty, joy, and life's simple pleasures. Most importantly, however, Karen treasured time spent with her family. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and most importantly a grandmother, and she cherished every moment shared with those she loved.

Karen is lovingly survived by her daughter, Sara B. Fitzpatrick; her son-in-law, Austen Fitzpatrick; and her cherished granddaughter, Jameson JoAn Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by her sister, Kristen Ramirez, and brother-in-law, Edward Ramirez; nephews, James Ramirez and Lucas Ramirez; her brother, Ian McCarver, and sister-in-law, Tracy McCarver; and her niece, Katie McCarver. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terence Bauer; her mother, Ruth Hill; her father, Robert McCarver; and her brother, Kevin McCarver.

Karen and Terry shared a life filled with love, faith, adventure, and devotion to family. Though separated by death, their love remained a guiding presence in her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

Karen's legacy of faith, education, generosity, compassion, and love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. She leaves behind treasured memories and an enduring example of a life well lived in service to God, family, and community. Her warm smile, welcoming heart, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
