Joseph Michael (Mike) Herold, was born January 26,1947 and died February 20,2026 after a short illness at Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg FL. surrounded by his Loving devoted Wife, a daughter, Angela Herold, 2 grandsons, Ryan Dalebroux and Dillon DeKeyser and other Family members.
Formerly from Louisville, Kentucky, graduated from Providence High School in Clarksville, Indiana and some college at the University of Louisville.
He served in the Army Troup E 15th Cavalry and fought for his Country in Viet Nam and was Honorably Discharged, Service Medals; Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksmanship Badge (Rifle). He was saddened, there were no Hero's welcome accustomed for returning troops.
A man of many passions, a jack of all trades, a skilled salesman from cars to insurance. Michael and I rebuilt our home in Saint Pete only to have Hurricane Helene destroy it. The destruction of our home affected him deeply. He rebuilt our home for Love. He loved football and walking on the beach. He had a dry sense of humor and stoic, as my Sister put it "Crusty on the outside but soft in the middle."
He loved dogs and swore a deep hatred of cats, until a cat adopted him and changed his heart.
He is preceded in death by his Parents Jack and Dollie Herold and his Sister Suzanna Pritchard.
In addition to his Wife, Daughter and Grandsons, Michael is survived by many nieces and nephews and Sister and Brother-in-Law's whom he dearly loved.
