died in his sleep peacefully April 22, 2018, in Tampa Florida, at the age of 98. Born in New York, John joined the 592nd Army/Air Force Division in 1941, as a trainer/drill instructor, and was stationed in Clearwater, Florida, where he met his wife to be, Dorothy, on the beach one afternoon. After his military service, John worked for several years, with several airlines, at Tampa International Airport. He went on to retire from General Cable, and then became one of Walmart’s most popular greeters, people would often frequent the store, just to experience John’s great wit and humor. He will be sorely missed by many. Preceded in death by wife Dorothy; and infant daughter, Beverly. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Toll, Susan (Albi) Toll, Michele (Danny) Alvarez; and son, David Toll; grandchildren, Sean (Rachel) Coniglio, Shea (Steven) Alvarez-Levy, Dax (Teresa) Alvarez; great-grandchildren, Jake, Dominick, Anthony, Chela, Nico, Luna and Luca.
