

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Johnson, who passed away on June 24,2026, in Trinity, Florida, at the age of 76.
John was born on August 12,1949. He made his home in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, where he was known as a husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished family member, and loyal friend whose kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
On July 11, 1970, John married the love of his life, Linda Harness, in Sarasota, Florida. Together they shared nearly 56 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, and unwavering devotion to one another and their family.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Benning. Following his military service, he earned a Master’s degree in Business and enjoyed a successful career with Phillips 66, where he was respected for his professionalism, leadership, and strong work ethic.
Outside of his career, John found great joy in coaching youth baseball, where he taught not only the fundamentals of the game but also the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and character. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, creating treasured memories with family and friends.
John will be remembered for his integrity, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His steady presence, gentle spirit, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jewell Johnson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, Linda Johnson; his sons, Chad Johnson and Ty Johnson; Chad’s fiancée, Sherry Nichols; Ty’s wife, Tricia Johnson; his cherished grandchildren, Kylee Johnson, Cole Johnson, Aubrey Johnson, and MaKenzie Johnson; his sister Toni Wood; his brother-in-law Ricky Wood; his brothers, Don Johnson and Ron Johnson; his sisters-in-laws, Renee Johnson and Sheila Johnson; his nephews, Nathan Johnson and his wife, Katie Johnson, Trent Johnson and his wife, Kaitlyn Johnson; his nieces, Nattalie O’Brien and her husband, Matt O’Brien, and Amanda Matheis and her husband, Michael Matheis; along with many extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
John’s life was defined by his love for his family, his dedication to his country, his commitment to his profession. He leaves behind a legacy of honor, and enduring love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
