Joan Marie (Finelli) Lewis, a loving mother and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. She was a devoted wife to her husband Charlie Lewis until his passing in 1992. They met in NH (where she was crowned Miss Keene), married in Niagara Falls and later lived in both NJ and CT where they raised their family. Joan was the Assistant Town Clerk in Manchester CT for many years before retiring and moving to Clearwater, FL in 1996. She was recognized for outstanding achievement and excellence in the Town Clerk’s Office for her service to the Town. A pillar of strength to her family, “Joanie Sunshine” will be remembered for her love for her family, her strong Christian/Catholic faith, and for her kindness and thoughtfulness toward others. She was classy, spirited and independent. Joan resided at The Hamptons since 2011 and truly appreciated her friendships. She enthusiastically participated in the activities; especially bingo, poker and going to the casino. She loved walking outdoors, flowers and baseball and rarely missed a Rays game. Joan is survived by her children, Chuck (Lana) Lewis and Trish (Pete) D’Alessandro, granddaughter Bella Lewis, nephew Jack Depetris (Syd) and niece Christine (Peter) Dallas. She was also predeceased by her loving companion and travel buddy Bill Murray (2002) and is survived by his loving family who remain lifelong friends. A celebration of life will be held at The Hamptons in Clearwater, FL on April 6th at 12 noon.
