Jacqueline passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2025. She was surrounded by the love of her family, who will forever cherish her memory. She was born on January 15, 1927, in Liège, Belgium, to the late Dr. Jacques Louis Disclez and Louise (Bovey) Disclez. She was an amazing 98 years old.
She met and fell in love with her late husband, Robert Lake Kirk, while he was stationed in Belgium during WWII. She married, moved to the USA, and became a citizen.
Jacqueline was a kind and generous person, a social butterfly with a strong will and a great sense of humor. She loved bridge, knitting, games, traveling, gourmet food, champagne, entertaining, and spending time with family and friends. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will inspire her family for generations to come.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne (George) Black of Wilmington, DE, and her son, David (Jamie) Kirk of Sterling, VA, and Palm Harbor, FL. She is also survived by: Anne’s children: Victoria (Brandon) Morris of Middletown, DE; Matthew Black (fiancée Ansley Solonynka); great-grandson Austin Black of Omaha, NE; and Robert Black of Wilmington, DE. David’s children: Alexandra Kirk of Sterling, VA, and Aerin Kirk of Fairfax, VA. Additionally, Jacqueline is remembered by her extended family in Belgium, France, Canada, and the USA.
Our beloved mother, Bonne Maman, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and friend Jacqueline will be buried next to her late husband, Bob, at Valley View Memorial Park in Jermyn, PA.
A “Celebration of Life” memorial service will be held at the New Castle County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #5 in Bear, DE, on May 17, 2025.
