At the heart of Bud’s life was his family, beginning with an incredible love story that spanned more than five decades. Bud and his wife, Lynn, first met in grade school at St. Bartholomew School. Life took them in different directions for a time, but after college, their paths crossed again at church when Lynn was teaching at Holy Cross Catholic School. They rekindled a connection that would become a lifelong love and partnership. They married, moved to Florida, and together built a beautiful life and family.
Soon after moving to Florida, Bud founded House of Graphics. He and Lynn worked side by side to grow the business for almost 40 years, and Bud was incredibly proud of what they accomplished together. But his greatest pride was always his family. He was extremely proud of his daughter, Jennifer, and loved watching her build a successful life, career, and family of her own. He especially treasured being a grandfather to Katherine and Claire, who brought him so much joy. Bud and Lynn made their home in Tampa, Florida, and were members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Music was one of Bud’s lifelong passions. He began playing in bands as a young adult, starting with Dad and Sons, and continued playing throughout his life, with a special love for blues and jazz. A talented B3 organ player, Bud loved sharing music with others. Music was more than something he enjoyed- it was a part of who he was and a lasting expression of his spirit.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Lynn Grudnik; his daughter, Jennifer Mockler; and his granddaughters, Katherine and Claire Mockler. He is also survived by his sisters, Betsy Brakovich and Mary Phillips; his nephew, Jeffrey Phillips; and his nieces, Lisa (Joe) Pastina and Nicole (Steven) Shields.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1, 2026, at The Studio at the Carrollwood Cultural Center from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.
Bud will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love of family, his music, and the beautiful life he built. His memory will remain always with those who knew and loved him
