A retired meat cutter at Publix, he was a talented wood craftsman and a Jack of all trades.
Born in McKeesport, Pa. February 20, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude Crookham Sloane. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Melva Johnson Sloane; daughters, Linda Sloane Blum (Jim) of Tampa and Susan Sloane Cerrato of Ponte Vedra; grandchildren, Justin Cerrato (Erin) of Jacksonville Megan Pineiro Gilmore (Mike) of New Port Richey, and Keri Cerrato Robertson (Rusty) of Jacksonville; great grandchildren, Keegan and Easton Robertson and Kennedy and Addyson Cerrato; sisters-in-law Doris Greijack of Dawsonville Ga. and Peg Sloane of McKeesport, Pa and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Gertrude Landkrohn of Butler, Pa. and Mildred Hurley of White Oak, Pa.; and brothers Herbert of West Newton, Pa., William and Thomas of Claysville, Pa., Glenn of Washington, Pa., Howard of North Versailles, Pa., George of McKeesport, Pa., and Clifford of White Oak, Pa.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
