Gordon Clark Sutherland, age 92, of Largo, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. He was the beloved husband of Judith Helen Sutherland and the cherished son Dorothy and Alfred Sutherland.
Born on March 29, 1933, in Kingston, Massachusetts, Gordon was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He spent his career driving car carriers and 18-wheelers, proudly owning and operating several trucks over the years. It was in Milton, Massachusetts, that he met the love of his life, Judy. They were married in 1962 and built a beautiful life together, sharing a deep and lasting bond.
Gordon had a lifelong love for warm weather, which eventually led him and Judy to settle in Florida. It became their home and a place of comfort and joy for many years. Above all, Gordon found his greatest pride and joy in his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Suzanne Sutherland of Largo, FL, Wendie Nguyen of Wareham, MA, and Mary Anne; his adored grandchildren, Holly Blackwood of Augusta, ME, and Jamie Nguyen of Rockland, MA; and his treasured great-grandchildren.
Gordon was predeceased by his beloved wife Judy, his daughter Melissa Sutherland, his brother Bobby Sutherland, and his grandson Joshua Sutherland.
Gordon’s kind heart, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
