Frank Richard Washburn, 89, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023 in Pinellas Park, FL. Frank was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 24, 1933. Frank grew up in Ohio and was a star athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was drafted into the Army in 1954 and was a proud, patriotic soldier who loved his country. He served two tours in Viet Nam and was awarded three bronze stars. He retired from the Army after serving 30 years. He continued to serve for many years as a volunteer in retiree activities at MacDill AFB, Florida. Frank was also an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan, and loved to golf and fish.
He loved his family and they meant everything to him. He is survived by his high school sweetheart Robertia, his wife of 70 years. He is also survived by his four children, Ed (Pat) of Sanford, NC, Frank (June) of Radford, Va, Susie Kepo’o of Orem, Utah and Carole Cameron of Pinellas Park, Fl. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, one predeceased granddaughter, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia/Alzheimer’s Association.
