Ernie was a Live Concert touring crew member, starting at a very early age of 18, which was the beginning of his more than 42 years in the music/touring industry. Ernie toured the world with some of the most prominent names in the music industry, starting out as a Lighting Crew Member and eventually transitioning to a Set Carpenter. Ernie was a hard-working, dedicated crew member with the ability to motivate all with absolute laughter, even in the most serious of moments. Every tour has "Ernie stories" and he will truly be remembered for his quick-witted, gregarious personality.
Ernie had a passion for music, sports and spending time at the beach. His unique and hilarious sense of humor have left all that knew him, with memories and laughter that will last a lifetime.
This was Ernie's favorite saying and of course it's so fitting and perfect at this moment:
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOW - "What a ride!"
Ernie is survived by his brother Kurt Wagner and sister in-law Nancy, sister Heidi Olds and brother-in-law Jim, niece Lauren Olds and nephew Jack Olds.
To carry on his passion and love for music, a fundraiser has been created in his honor for anyone who wants to give at:
