She was predeceased by her childhood sweetheart and husband of sixty years Franklin Eugene Scott. They were inseparable in life and are again together.
Eleanor was born in Eagleville Missouri to William and Frances Mortensen Holcomb. She had an older sister Karen and husband Jerry.
She is survived by her younger brother Peter, his wife Lorraine, and her beloved sister in law Patsy.
She moved to Michigan with her mother as a child and met her two best, life-long friends, her future husband “Frankie”, and dearest friend Joyce.
Ellie and Frankie married after she finished nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. Frank was in the military and their growing family moved often before settling in Pinellas County. After her children were in school Ellie returned to nursing and worked in a variety of healthcare settings.
Eleanor was a lifelong learner and finished her Career as an educator with a master’s degree. She retired from her favorite job at Tampa Bay Tech for Hillsborough county schools. Frankie and Ellie enjoyed twenty years of retirement and traveled extensively in their RV. They visited every state except Hawaii and most of Canada.
She is survived by her six children Carol Marie, Eric Franklin, Aron William and his wife Sandy, Bonny Ellen, Linda Joy and her husband Eddie, Cory Adam and his wife Sandra. She was “Nani” to her fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren as well as many of their friends.
Ellie was a devoted Christian and loved to participate in children’s and music programs.
Her family will have a celebration of life in the fall.
