Elaine Hope Smith

Elaine was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on April 1, 1941. She graduated from Academy High School in 1959 and married her middle school sweetheart, Walter Jon Smith in 1963. They were married for 60 years. They have two sons, Bradley David Smith and Derek Jon Smith. They moved to Florida in 1979. Elaine worked as an Executive Administrator at Jack Eckerd Corporation until retirement.

Elaine enjoyed singing in the church choir at Faith Presbyterian Church, The Note-Ables, Class Act and with the Suncoast Singers. Other hobbies throughout her life include boating, hosting beautiful holidays and parties, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and visited over 23 countries on vacations.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Smith; sons Bradley, Derek and Derek’s wife Danielle Smith. Grandchildren Austin, Evan, Derek jr. and Dana. Her brothers Leslie McBride, Donald McBride and wife Gail McBride, sister-in-law Carrie Southworth, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oakhurst United Methodist Church 13400 Park Blvd. Seminole, Florida 33776 on Saturday April 15th at 2pm. A small reception at the church after the service.
