It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Edwin Paul Schaefer, who left this world on December 14, 2025, at the age of 85.

Edwin, known affectionately as "Dad" to his children and cherished ones, began his life journey on September 9, 1940. He bravely served his country, entering the Army soon after completing his education at Kaukauna High School. During a brief reprieve in 1959, he met the love of his life, Jeanne. Their love story blossomed, leading to a beautiful union in marriage in 1963.

After his time in the Army, Edwin and Jeanne made the decision to start a family and opened their hearts to three children - Chad, Nicole, and Heather - whom they lovingly welcomed through adoption. Edwin dedicated his professional life to shaping young minds as a school administrator in Kaukauna. Outside of his work, Edwin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He treasured his annual fishing trips to Canada and frequent visits to the lakes of northern Wisconsin. A passionate golfer, he constructed his first retirement home within putting distance of the golf course and later established a second abode in Florida, overlooking the fairway of a Country Club. Edwin also found delight in softball, occasionally driving Jeanne to exasperation with his passion for the game.

During his military career, Edwin served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, earning a degree in teaching.

Edwin leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by his son Chad, daughter Heather, sisters Lei and Nancy, and brother Terry. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
