He grew up playing sports, specifically loved speed skating, where he first met Harriet. After high school he enlisted in the Army, 1954 during the Korean War. In 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Harriet Perkins. They moved to Brick, NJ in 1957, where he raised his family. He worked as a construction supervisor for most of his career. Along with neighbors he formed "Ace Enterprises" where they would maintain and add on to all their houses. He taught many of the neighbor children construction trades.
He was truly the guy that would give you the shirt off his back and would always help all in need. He enjoyed many passions like camping with the family, boating and fishing with the grandkids, and neighborhood parties. In 1997, he retired to Florida living in the Navarre and Tampa areas. In retirement, he found a new passion in woodworking and built Christmas decorations for the Navarre Park for their annual "Christmas in Navarre". He was very proud of his service in the Army and was a lifelong member of the American Legion, Brick, NJ.
Survived by his wife Harriet Davis, children: Terry Davis, Ruth Davis-Sumaya (Rey), Glen Davis and his 12 grandkids as well as his 12 great-grandkids and his brother Dave. He is predeceased by his parents David and Edna, his sons Donnie and John, his sister Edna and great-granddaughter Essie.
